Dig at Kings Dyke, Peterborough

We began by looking at some finds, and thinking about what we might discover. Our session leaders showed us how to use our tools to split open the Jurassic clay.

We then headed off to the dig site. The most common finds were ammonites and belemnites (Jurassic squid). HB also found a Gryphaea (Jurassic oyster) and bivalves.

HB filled an entire bag full of fossils to add to the collection started over the summer.
