HB asked to measure the length of the dinosaurs we had seen at the Birmingham 'Dinosaurs in the Wild' show. HB measured out Ankylosaurus (7m), Alamosaurus (21m), and Dakotaraptor (5.5m).
Next HB wanted to see how long it would take to run and ride a bike the length of Alamosaurus. HB then wanted to know if we'd be able to outrun dinosaurs. We timed HB running at 3m/s. We looked up dinosaur speeds and found that T-rex could cover 8m/s, velociraptor 11m/s, and compsognathus 17.8m/s. So no, HB couldn't outrun these dinosaurs!
