Late Medieval Medicine Workshop at Cambridge University

November 2019, Year 3, age 7

The session began with a talk about the four humours and popular medical treatments of the time. The children then took on the roles of patient (inventing medical problems) and doctor (diagnosing using a sheet of symptoms). Next, with the help of the apothecaries they made bottles based on the humour balance of the illness they had described.

Finally they attempted to make a genuine medieval cure from flowers, herbs, and butter.
