Stone Age Workshop at Ferry Meadows

July 2018, Year 1, age 6

The session began with the friendly group leader giving a (not entirely accurate) talk about the stone age. We then went outside to light fires (confusingly using metal to generate the spark). It took a long time to get the hang of it but eventually HB managed to make sparks and then fire. It wasn't how stone age people would have done it, but it was good fun nonetheless.

Next the children worked together to make shelters. A water pistol was used to test how waterproof the shelters were. The answer was not very!
