Kentwell Through the Ages: Neolithic Camp

May 2018, Year 1, age 6

Kentwell hosted a home-ed day at their through the ages festival. Multiple time periods were covered (hence the Viking outfit). In part of the grounds a Neolithic Camp had been set up.

There was a small shelter with paints and decorated objects. HB spotted a little mistake though - can you see the error? (Clue: look at the paint brushes.)

This sacred space was being guarded by a man who kept chasing people he thought were male away. He didn't always get it right though! (One girl who was chased away was a bit cross about it when she discovered why she'd been chased off.)

We both found the skinning demonstration disturbing.

HB's favourite part was using a replica stone age axe to cut a tree.

HB also enjoyed blowing a horn.
