Today HB explored the Roman Army Museum. We began in the classroom where a hologram of the Greek slave Velius Longus taught us Latin, maths and a little about Roman morality.
Next we learnt about the structure of the army and different types of soldiers.
We looked at artefacts left behind by the Romans, including some "interesting" symbols.
We explored several maps.
We saw armour and weapons.
Perhaps the most interesting part of the museum taught us about daily life at the fort of Magna (roughly situated where the museum is). We learnt about food, training, religion, and leisure.
At the recruitment tent Centurion Africanus tried to persuade us to join the Roman Army.
