HB visited the remains of the Roman Theatre in St Albans.
We could see where the performance area was and where (up to 7000) people sat on a wooden structure. Next to the theatre were shops.
We then visited the Roman hypocaust. The beautiful mosaic floor was raised up so that hot air could circulate through it. Outside a fire was lit and the air pumped in. HB was impressed that the Romans had underfloor heating.
We then walked down to where a section of Roman Wall remains.
